The scope of my practice is built around the six pillars of Lifestyle Medicine:
Nutrition
Stress Management
Physical Activity
Avoidance of Risky Substances
Restorative Sleep
Establishing Positive Social Connections
I work with individuals interested in using the lifestyle medicine approach for the prevention and the management of many diseases and conditions, such as cardiovascular diseases, inflammatory conditions, diabetes, insulin resistance, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, cognitive health, weight management, disease prevention, and promotion of healthy aging.
My practice approach applies evidence-based and prescriptive lifestyle changes working with a person to create a sustainable health behavior/lifestyle change. This approach is not a temporary fix, such as a short-term diet, but will forge a new path toward building a life of wellness, disease reduction, and prevention that emphasizes positive choices and self-care.
I function as a coach within the client-provider therapeutic alliance. We will work together to design a specific and achievable plan to address health concerns, with the goal of having measurable, relevant, and actionable outcomes. Each individual will thus, be an active participant in their self-care and overall wellbeing.
